Along with being a floor leader at Quickly Boba Café, I also assisted in social media management and advertisement. The pictures taken for this restaurant are the products of my first professional photography venture. The goal of this project was to create bright and crisp pictures to feature special holiday beverages.
Vietnamese Student Association
When coming into college, one of my goals was to become more connected with my Asian heritage. Through VSA, I was given the opportunity to learn more about my culture while sharing it with others. The main purpose of my job as Historian was to tell stories through photography. These pictures were taken at our annual Tet event celebrating the Lunar New Year.
Sparks Magazine
In high school, I first experienced print production through my involvement in the yearbook. I learned how to place pictures and meet criteria. With Sparks, I had hands-on involvement throughout the entire process. I had opportunities to take pictures, create graphics, design spreads, and control print. Here are a couple of spreads I designed for the Fall 2019 print!
I have had the pleasure of traveling the globe with my friends and family. Traveling offers the opportunity to expand your perspective and understanding of how the world works. When I visit new environments, I like to focus on mostly landscape photography. I love to find a balance between nature and architecture.
Dance
I have always had a passion for dance. During my last semester for my Design certificate, I studied videography and editing. I had the opportunity to combine my love for media and dance by creating a choreography concept video for my final video project. My professor assigned me the obstruction of a two-shot, which posed to be both a challenge and a thrill.
My largest goal in life is to have a career in music business. I have a passion for music. I love going to concerts and festivals across the country, and it would be a dream to do this as a job. One of the most difficult challenges in building a portfolio is taking low-light pictures using low-cost equipment. I focus my concert photography on the interactions between audience and artist, and use the power of light contrast to produce pictures that glow.
